Erica Layne, Program Director
Erica is a native New Yorker currently residing in Queens. Her outgoing, nurturing and jovial personality is unsurpassed to her dedication in being in service of others. It is her passion to develop relationships and recognize the needs of others within her community that people are naturally drawn to her. She has spent over 25 years in the human resources field and has learned to identify and appreciate the value of innate talents and fostering relationships that will establish opportunities of real growth. Professionalism and accountability are the rules that she lives by while providing guidance and leadership in a wide range of human services in her local school boards, with educators, local officials and the non-profit community. Working with Batoto Yetu over the past ten years, first as a volunteer, then as its Program Director and Stage Manager keeps her heart filled with the love of dance while affording her the opportunity to watch and share the benefits Batoto Yetu creates in the minds of “Our Children”. Erica Layne is happily married and the mother of two Batoto Yetu students, Sydney and Owen.
